Christmas Island National Park is seeking proposals from a suitably
experienced herpetologist and assistant(s) to undertake a reptile survey
for 2-4 weeks in April-May 2008. The aim of this survey is to determine
changes in distribution and abundance of individual species, with
particular focus on species endemic to Christmas Island. A proven track
record of undertaking relevant field work (preferably in remote areas),
experience in identification of reptiles, experience in use of GIS and
ability to work mostly independently is required. The project output will
be a comprehensive report detailing the survey results and include the use
of GIS data and maps, and must be completed by 13 June 2008.
