ASH Research Grants

 

Information for Applicants

Applications are called for the Australian Society of Herpetologists

A research grant of A$750 will be awarded in 2009 to a number of student members of the Australian Society of Herpetologists. Students working in any field of herpetology may apply. The purpose of the award is to recognise and reward outstanding academic and research performance. The grant must be used for research expenses such as field travel, consumables, or equipment purchase or hire. Academic merit is the main criteria for the award. Previous award winners are ineligible to apply.

Eligibility

Applicants MUST:
• be a current financial member of the Australian Society of Herpetologists (see http:// http://www.australiansocietyofherpetologists.org/Membership.html for more details on membership of ASH)
• be a currently enrolled honours, Masters, Graduate Diploma or PhD student at an Australian University

Selection criteria

The competition will be based on:
• a short proposal
• a brief Curriculum Vitae
• a letter of recommendation from your primary supervisor

All applications must be made on the official application form available via the ASH web site (http://www.australiansocietyofherpetologists.org/Resources.html). Late applications will NOT be accepted. Winners of research grants are required to acknowledge the Australian Society of Herpetologists in any publications arising from their research.
